Classic Princess & Pirate Real Party Feature

Today's party feature comes to us all the way from the United States of America! Super gorgeous, this Classic Princess & Pirate party was styled and hosted by Tali from A Party Studio.

I love the gorgeous rose and blue colour scheme, especially the pretty pink carnations, one of my favourite flowers.  The choc coated strawberries are also really sweet and love the use of both a Princess Crown and Pirate ship on the printables.

Here's what Tali had to say about the details ...

My daughter wanted a princess party for her birthday but since she had a few boys on her guest list, we decided to make it a classic princess and pirate party. The colors she wanted were pink and more pink (of course) and she agreed that we could add blue and teal. We kept the look very simple- with a pretty crown to keep the princesses happy and a ship for the pirates. I really enjoyed designing the printables. 

When guests walked through the front door, they were able to pick out a pretty princess costume to wear with a wand and tiara, or a pirate eye patch. The guests loved dressing up and changing in to various dresses

For the dessert table, we had home made vanilla cake pops, vanilla cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, popcorn in cones, Hershey kisses, marshmallow and of course a pretty two tier chocolate and fudge cake and gold coins (pirate treasure).

We tried to keep the party food in keeping with this fun theme and we served: royal heart and butterfly fairy bread, caprese sword kabobs, catch of the day (goldfish), ships n dips, a fruit platter suitable for a royal princess. Of course, we also served pizza because that is a huge hit with pirates and princesses alike.

Since the children at the birthday party ranged in age between two and five, we decided to skip traditional party games. Instead we had a craft station (loads of foam stickers and star wands to decorate) and a glitter tattoo station. Everyone loved the glitter tattoos, even the adults.

Real Party Feature - Upsy Daisy Party

Hello :)

Today's ' real party' feature comes to us from ' Seven Little Wishes' in Perth and is a cute Upsy Daisy Birthday party.

Owners Mel and Toni have created a gorgeous, colourful set up filled with lots of little details.  I love how they have added a cute little flower to the donuts, very simple but looks super sweet.

The beautiful cake and other desserts were also made by Seven Little Wishes and the park location really helped set a perfect In the Night Garden scene.

Our Family Easter - Ethan's Dessert Table

Hello!

Apologies for it being so long between posts.  Very busy behind the scenes at Piece of Cake Parties & Celebrations & my son Ethan has also been really unwell so the poor old blog has been a little neglected.

I just wanted to pop in and share a few Easter snaps with you.  For those who have followed our blog or Facebook page for a while will know that we decided last year that Ethan would take full control of our Easter dessert table & decorations.  Ethan gets to decide on what the desserts will be & what decorations he wants to use and he sets it all up.  We loved this last year and this year was excellent as well.  He enjoys being creative and its cute to see him so proud of his achievements.

As Ethan has been unwell it was a nice simple one this year.  We had a roast for dinner and then we just had a small dessert, the kids made Oreo pops & Easter bunny biscuits and we purchased a lemon pie as well.

Vintage Circus ~ Real Party Feature!

Today's real party feature comes to us from Melissa Lewis from Maney & Boons Sunday Afternoon.  A gorgeous Vintage Circus party for her sons Mayson & Kayden (these cuties happen to be my nephews, so we were lucky to be able to attend this fun party!)

Red, blue & yellow was the main colour scheme for the party set up and all the decorations and food were lovingly handmade by the family.  Guests had a ball participating in the various Carnival games and face painting and temporary tattoos. The family was dressed to the theme with mum being the Ring Master and Dad being a Clown, a very fun day!

Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013!

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope you had a beautiful and happy Christmas with your families.  Was a lovely relaxing one here, spent lots of quality time with the kids so was perfect :)

Well 2012 was a great year for Piece of Cake Parties and we were again able to assist with so many lovely birthday parties.  It is always so nice to have existing customers come back to us for their party goodies and also for the opportunity to help lots of new customers with their special events.  I would like to thank all of our customers for their business throughout 2012 and I hope to help you again this year.

We also hosted some gorgeous and fun parties ourselves in 2012, with Paige's Lalaloopsy Christening definitely being a highlight as it was our chance to celebrate our new baby daughter and also to host our first 'girly' event. I was absolutely thrilled to also be awarded 3rd Place by both judges in the Invite Me's 'My Sweet Table Rules 2012' competition for Paige's Lalaloopsy table.  Among nearly 300 absolutely fantastic dessert tables, this was a really awesome personal achievement for me as a Mum and also for Piece of Cake Parties.

I was also so honoured to be contacted by so many fabulous blogs from around the world, asking if they could feature my kids parties - being Paige's Lalaloopsy Party, Declan's Dinosaur Roar Party and Ethan's Jungle/Monkey Party.  I'm just a Mum who owns a party shop, I dont have event styling experience so the fact that others have found inspiration in my kids parties is just awesome for me as that's why I opened Piece of Cake Parties, so I could help other parents host gorgeous and fun celebrations for their little ones.  So a big thank you to all those who have featured my parties in 2012!

So whats in store for 2013 and Piece of Cake Parties & Celebrations ? Well, A LOT!!
We have some exciting changes and surprises that we cant wait to announce!  We spent all of 2012 working behind the scenes on some great new things and should be ready to release all the details over the next few months, so be sure to keep an eye out for some exciting new things coming soon!

I would again like to thank all of our customers for their business in 2012, all the businesses who helped us with our parties in 2012 and a big thanks to all our Blog and Facebook supporters and readers.  We love having you be apart of the Piece of Cake journey and here's to a fabulous, fun 2013 :)
